Location: Pontefract - Site based, not hybrid

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) to support our business within the meat industry.

We operate across two sites, so will involve a small amount of travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a comprehensive occupational health service to employees within the food industry.
  • Carry out health surveillance activities, including audiometry, spirometry and other statutory assessments.
  • Conduct fitness-for-work and pre-placement medical assessments.
  • Support workplace drug and alcohol testing.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in accordance with clinical governance and GDPR requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with HR, Health & Safety and operational teams to provide occupational health advice.
  • Promote employee health, wellbeing and preventative health initiatives.
  • Manage occupational health casework, including sickness absence and return-to-work support.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration.
  • Proven occupational health experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience delivering health surveillance and occupational health case management.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to work autonomously and manage a varied workload.
  • IT literate

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Occupational Health qualification (Diploma or Degree).
  • Knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and food standards.
  • Experience delivering immunisation and health programmes.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
