Who are we? We are a privately owned business established in Yorkshire in 1997 based in Pontefract with a reputation for exceptional product, innovation and industry leading animal welfare standards. Our facilities combine traditional British butchery techniques with some of the best technological prowess in the food sector. A committed team of over 800 staff oversee the whole process: from procuring the best possible livestock from our carefully picked group of farms, through butchery, retail packaging and despatch before it finally arrives on the supermarket shelf or as part of the restaurant dining experience.
Role: Lead engineering operations across a three-site manufacturing food business. Coordinate comprehensive maintenance schedules and rapid breakdown response while ensuring project integrity. Collaborate with senior leadership to drive site-wide productivity and strategic growth. Control engineering expenditure through structured budgeting and identify cost-saving opportunities via continuous improvement. Maintain full compliance with statutory regulations and customer audits to protect the business’s license to operate. Manage critical spares and stock levels to hit financial KPIs and equipment availability targets. Partner with Finance and Project Managers to deliver capital projects on schedule and within budget.
About you: As a member of our senior management team, the preferred candidate would have:
- Experience of managing the engineering function associated with a large or multi-site manufacturing operation.
- Skilled in budgetary control, capex planning, and process improvement.
- A background in meat processing, food production or FMCG manufacturing.
