Dove House is seeking to recruit ambitious higher learning support assistants to lead class sessions from September 2026 on a fixed term basis until 31st August 2027.
Dove House is a popular, successful and highly regarded school in Basingstoke, for students with moderate/severe learning difficulties and autism, aged between 11-19. We are proud to be an ‘Outstanding’ school but retain our passion to keep moving forward.
In this key position, you will support delivery of high-quality teaching and learning, working under the direction of teaching staff. Under the guidance of the curriculum lead you will prepare, plan and deliver a personalised curriculum to a class of pupils. A key part of this role will be to write reports and contribute to the annual review process.
You must be able to demonstrate empathy, sensitivity, tact and resilience when dealing with challenging circumstances, as well as being able to use your initiative and manage your own time well. You will have experience of using and adapting the national curriculum. Experience of working with primary or secondary pupils with complex special needs would be advantageous. Training will be given to the successful candidate.

The hours for this role are; Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 4.30pm and Friday 8.30am to 4pm.
