Job Description
THIS ROLE WOULD BE SUITABLE FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS STUDIED A RICS ACCREDITED DEGREE WHO IS LOOKING TO ENTER THE SURVEYING INDUSTRY.
Dove & Hawk are working with a Surveying firm based in London, specialise in Valuations and Business Rates services for a broad range of commercial properties. The team works with clients across London, Warwickshire & North Yorkshire with various industries, providing expert advice, strategic property insights, and solutions to meet their unique needs. They are looking for a dedicated Property Inspector / Property Referencer to join the team in supporting the surveying activities. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working independently in the field. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of commercial properties across the UK to assess their condition and provide detailed reports.
- Gather accurate data related to property specifications, such as floor plans, building features, and conditions for valuation and business rates assessments.
- Provide on-site property reference reports, which include verifying property details and collecting data for ongoing projects.
- Assist in compiling valuation reports, ensuring all inspection data is accurate and up to date.
- Work closely with senior surveyors and other team members to support valuation and business rates calculations.
- Liaise with clients and tenants when required to gain access to properties and discuss inspection findings.
- Ensure all inspection activities comply with current regulations and internal company procedures.
- Keep records and manage property databases to maintain accurate reference materials.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of commercial property trends and changes in business rates regulations.
Requirements of the role:
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to compile accurate and comprehensive reports.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with surveying tools, software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A full UK driving license (for travel between properties).
- Degree in Surveying, Real Estate, or related discipline.
- Knowledge of the UK commercial property market.
Salary Budgets: £30,000 per annum
