Junior Rates Surveyor - Shoreditch - £30,000 - £35,000 DOE

My client, a business rates advisory company are looking for a Junior Rates Surveyor/Business Development Assistant to join their company. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience within business rates. To provide data, research, CRM and operational support required to scale business development activity.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, comfortable working with data and technology, and naturally thorough. They will enjoy researching companies, properties and markets, working with structured datasets and turning information from multiple sources into accurate and actionable business development intelligence.

Responsibilities:

Data & Lead Generation

  • Research target companies.
  • Identify landlord and occupier prospects and maintain databases
  • Build campaign datasets.
  • Process FOI returns.
  • Validate contact information.
  • Create lead lists for sales campaigns.

Sales Coordination

  • Schedule follow-ups.
  • Prepare prospect briefing notes for wider team ahead of meetings.
  • Record meeting outcomes.
  • Monitor uncontacted leads and coordinate with team.
  • Produce weekly pipeline reports.

Campaign Support

  • Prepare campaign audiences.
  • Manage mailing lists.
  • Support email and LinkedIn campaigns.
  • Coordinate campaign reporting.
  • Track engagement metrics.

General Business Development Administration

  • Assist with proposal preparation.
  • Maintain business development documentation.
  • Support onboarding of new opportunities.
  • Coordinate information gathering from prospects and partners.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a junior analyst, sales operations or BD support role - desirable
  • Knowledge of commercial property, property consultancy or the business rates sector
  • Experience using Monday.com, HubSpot or Salesforce
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to turn information into structured, actionable data.
  • Good Excel / Google Sheets skills, including sorting, filtering, lookups and working with datasets.
  • Experience researching companies, properties, markets, prospects or decision-makers.
  • Strong data management skills with a focus on accuracy, completeness and consistency.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when handling prospect, property and contact data.
  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of how research, data and lead generation support revenue growth.
  • Systems-minded, with an interest in improving and automating recurring workflows.

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, flexible working
