IP Associate

Greater London – £100,000 – £140,000

A leading international law firm at the forefront of intellectual property work in the UK is seeking a mid-level Associate to join its Intellectual Property team, focusing on transactional matters. This role offers the opportunity to advise a high-profile client base on a broad range of non-contentious IP matters, including M&A, equity capital markets, spin-outs, investment rounds, restructurings, joint ventures, licensing, collaborations, and financings. Experience with regulatory matters in the context of transactions would be highly beneficial.

The Role
• Collaborating with the IP and corporate teams on intellectual property matters within M&A and related transactions.
• Conducting due diligence exercises on target companies and vendors, reporting on findings and recommendations.
• Taking responsibility for IP drafting within deal documentation, as well as supporting standalone IP agreements such as assignments, licences, and collaborations.
• Advising on IP provisions and structuring within a wide range of commercial contracts.
• Applying IP expertise to assist clients in technically complex industries, delivering practical, commercially focused solutions that align with their strategic objectives.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be part of one of the largest departments in the London office and should have:
• Strong academic credentials.
• Solid transactional experience within an established Intellectual Property team at a respected law firm.
• Proven ability to handle complex matters within a comparable environment.
• A desire to work within a truly international law firm.
• A clear understanding of the structure and operation of a commercial law firm.
• A commitment to supporting the continued growth and development of the practice.
