A well established firm are looking for an experienced Employment Solicitor to lead their Employment Law department as Head of Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing a team of employment lawyers and providing expert legal advice and support to the firm's clients. As Head of Department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the department's operations, including team management, business development, client management, and budgetary control. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the department delivers high-quality legal services to our clients, and that the team members are motivated, engaged and equipped to perform at their best.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of employment lawyers, providing leadership, guidance, and support to help them achieve their goals.
  • Provide expert legal advice and support to clients on all aspects of employment law, including but not limited to, disciplinary and grievance procedures, employment contracts, discrimination, and dismissal.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and providing excellent customer service.
  • Oversee the department's budgetary control and ensure that financial targets are met.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the firm to deliver an integrated and seamless service to clients.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in employment law and ensure that team members are informed of any changes that may affect clients.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' PQE in Employment Law.
  • Experience in managing and developing a team of lawyers.
  • Strong technical knowledge of employment law and a track record of delivering high-quality legal advice.
