An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated and ambitious Residential Real Estate Paralegal to join a highly regarded London law firm on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a paralegal looking to develop their career within a market-leading residential property team, gaining exposure to some of the most prestigious and complex residential property matters in London. The team advises high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, overseas investors and private banks on a wide range of prime and super-prime residential property transactions across Central London and the Home Counties.
Working alongside experienced solicitors and within a collaborative team environment, you will gain valuable exposure to high-quality transactions including acquisitions and disposals, freehold and leasehold matters, new-build purchases, portfolio transactions, lease extensions and refinancing work.
The Role
- Supporting solicitors and fee earners on a varied caseload of residential property transactions from instruction through to completion and post-completion.
- Preparing and drafting key legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds and reports on title.
- Reviewing title documents, ordering searches and identifying potential risks or issues.
- Assisting with the preparation of replies to enquiries and liaising with solicitors, agents, lenders, landlords and other third parties.
- Supporting exchange and completion processes, including preparing completion statements and coordinating completion arrangements.
- Managing SDLT submissions, HM Land Registry applications, registrations and post-completion requirements.
- Maintaining accurate matter records, managing client balances and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Contributing to the smooth running of the team and delivering a high level of client service.
About You
- Previous experience working within a Residential Conveyancing or Residential Real Estate team within private practice.
- A strong understanding of the residential property transaction process from start to finish.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise with clients, solicitors, agents, lenders and other advisers.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience using case management, document management and time recording systems would be advantageous.
