A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family Lawyer to build and lead a Family Law practice within a growing and entrepreneurial law firm.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to

  • Develop and grow a privately funded Family Law practice.
  • Lead and mentor junior lawyers and support staff.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with clients and professional referrers.
  • Play a key role in the firm's strategic growth plans.
  • Work closely with senior leadership on departmental development.
  • Build a team around themselves as the department grows.

The Role

  • You will manage a broad range of privately funded Family Law matters, including:
  • Divorce and separation.
  • Financial remedy matters.
  • High-net-worth financial cases.
  • Private children matters.
  • Cohabitation disputes.
  • Pre and post-nuptial agreements.
  • Complex relationship breakdown cases.
  • Other privately funded Family Law matters.

Alongside fee-earning responsibilities, you will play a central role in developing the department's reputation, generating new work and expanding its presence throughout Manchester and the wider North West market.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be

  • A qualified Solicitor with significant experience in privately funded Family Law.
  • A Partner, Legal Director, Head of Family or ambitious Senior Associate seeking a genuine leadership opportunity.
  • Commercially minded with a proven ability to develop work and build client relationships.
  • Able to demonstrate strong technical expertise across a broad range of Family Law matters.
  • Passionate about developing and mentoring junior lawyers.
  • Entrepreneurial in their approach and excited by the opportunity to build and grow a practice.

An existing client following or established referrer network would be advantageous but is not essential for the right individual.
