They are looking to appoint an experienced Costs Paralegal to join their team on a permanent basis. The Role
- Specialise in legal costs work, supporting fee earners and managing costs-related matters from instruction through to resolution.
- Assist with the preparation and management of costs documentation across a varied caseload.
- Prepare costs schedules, budgets and documentation for assessment.
- Support detailed assessments, negotiations and other costs-related matters.
- Work collaboratively with fee earners and other members of the wider legal team.
- Contribute to the continued development and efficiency of the costs function.
About You
- Previous experience working within a legal costs environment.
- Strong understanding of costs procedures, assessment and relevant civil procedure rules.
- Experience preparing costs schedules, budgets and detailed assessments.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines effectively.
- Comfortable using legal practice management systems and relevant costs software.
Qualifications & Experience
- Legal or paralegal qualification with demonstrable experience specialising in costs.
- Costs Draftsman qualification or equivalent professional accreditation would be advantageous.
- Membership of the Association of Costs Lawyers (ACL) or equivalent professional body would be desirable.
- Previous experience within a law firm, legal costs team or specialist costs practice.
