A highly regarded West End firm's construction disputes practice is looking to appoint a Senior Associate or Legal Director to join a growing team acting on complex, high-value construction and infrastructure disputes.

This is an opportunity to join a team that has deliberately remained lean, giving senior lawyers genuine responsibility, close client contact and a clear voice in the direction of matters. Rather than being one of many in a large disputes group, you'll play a key role from day one.

The team advises a broad range of developers, contractors, consultants, funders and public sector organisations on significant construction disputes across a variety of sectors. The work includes:

  • High-value adjudications and complex construction litigation.
  • Building Safety Act and fire safety related disputes.
  • Professional negligence claims.
  • Defective design and workmanship disputes.
  • JCT and NEC contract disputes.
  • Strategic risk management and contentious project advice.

You'll have the autonomy to run your own matters, work directly with clients and counsel, and become a trusted adviser rather than simply supporting larger teams.

Join a respected, partner-led team with an excellent reputation in the market. Genuine autonomy with significant client exposure. High-quality Building Safety work forming a key part of the practice. Clear progression with realistic routes to Legal Director and Partnership. Opportunity to mentor junior lawyers and help shape the future growth of the team. Strong collegiate culture where senior lawyers are trusted and recognised for their contribution beyond billable hours.

We're keen to speak with construction disputes lawyers who can demonstrate:

  • Around 6+ PQE, although exceptional candidates outside this range will absolutely be considered.
  • E&W, or common law qualification.
  • Strong experience across contentious construction matters.
  • Adjudication experience together with broader litigation or dispute resolution.
  • Exposure to Building Safety Act matters would be advantageous, although not essential if gained through wider construction disputes work.
  • Excellent client management and commercial awareness.
  • A collaborative approach and ambition to take on greater responsibility.

Salary up to £135,000 depending on experience. Discretionary bonus. Sensible billable target. Recognition for business development, mentoring and wider contribution. Hybrid working with a collaborative, office-led culture.

Opportunities offering this combination of high-quality work, genuine autonomy, realistic progression and an excellent work-life balance are increasingly difficult to find. Whether you're an established Senior Associate looking for a clearer route forward or already operating at Legal Director level, I'd welcome a confidential conversation. To discuss the opportunity in complete confidence, please get in touch.
