Legal Secretary – Private ClientOldham – Office-basedSalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceAre you an experienced Legal Secretary with a background in Private Client law? A well-established law firm in Oldham is looking for a professional and proactive individual to join their Private Client department. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a close-knit, supportive team working on important and rewarding matters.  The Role:As a Legal Secretary within the Private Client team, you’ll provide vital support to fee earners handling a broad caseload, including Wills, Probate, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Court of Protection matters. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing comprehensive secretarial support to solicitors, including digital dictation, diary management, and client correspondence.
  • Preparing legal documents, forms, and court applications in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Managing incoming calls and liaising with clients, executors, beneficiaries, and third parties in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Ensuring all file administration is kept up to date, both electronically and in hard copy, using the firm’s case management system.
  • Handling billing and time-recording tasks, ensuring prompt invoicing and accurate financial records.
  • Assisting with file opening and compliance procedures, including anti-money laundering checks.
  • Supporting the wider team with general administrative tasks and contributing to a positive office environment.

  What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working as a legal secretary, ideally within a Private Client team.
  • Excellent typing and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with case management systems.
  • Strong communication skills, with a sensitive and professional approach when dealing with clients during what can be challenging circumstances.
  • Highly organised and detail-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
