Are you an experienced Legal Secretary looking for a new opportunity in a friendly and reputable law firm? Our client, a well-established firm based in York, is seeking a Legal Secretary to provide high-quality administrative support to a small team of solicitors specialising in wills, probate, trusts, and estate planning. You will play a key role in supporting two busy Private Client Solicitors, ensuring the smooth running of their day-to-day work.

Duties will include:

  • Preparing and formatting correspondence, legal documents, and forms
  • Managing diaries, appointments, and client meetings
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries from clients and other professionals
  • Opening and closing files, maintaining accurate records, and filing
  • Liaising with clients with professionalism and sensitivity
  • Assisting with billing, dictation, and general administrative tasks

About You

  • Previous experience as a secretary is essential
  • Must be an excellent typist (audio & copy)
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident with Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Discreet and professional with a client-focused approach
