A reputable and well-established law firm in York is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join its friendly and professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HR professional who enjoys working in a varied, hands-on role within a collaborative environment.
Working closely with senior management and supporting a small but busy team, the successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the firm’s HR function and supporting the continued development of its people strategy. This is a broad and varied position offering responsibility across all areas of HR, including:
- Managing and supporting an HR Officer and a team of 8 administrative staff
- Providing advice and guidance on a wide range of HR matters
- Leading recruitment activities across the firm
- Supporting and developing HR strategy and initiatives
- Reviewing and managing HR policies and procedures
- Coordinating onboarding and induction for new starters
- Managing staff development, performance and training initiatives
- Supporting employee relations matters and ensuring best HR practice
- Helping to foster a positive and professional working culture
The ideal candidate will:
- Be an experienced HR professional with strong generalist HR knowledge
- Have previous experience in a managerial or supervisory HR role
- Possess excellent communication and organisational skills
- Be confident handling a varied workload independently
- Have a proactive and approachable working style
- Ideally have previous HR experience within a law firm
- Hold relevant HR qualifications (CIPD desirable)
