Job Description

Douglas Scott are working with a long standing client who are in the market for a a Team Manager for their Housing Disrepair Team in Manchester City Centre As a Team Manager, you will provide strong leadership and manage your team to meet targets and support firm growth. Your responsibilities include effective workload management, fostering positive change, maintaining high client service standards, and collaborating with senior management and external stakeholders. You will handle team meetings, performance audits, and compliance with firm procedures while addressing complaints and identifying improvement opportunities. Additionally, you'll support recruitment, monitor staff development, and stay updated on legal sector changes to ensure your team remains informed and compliant. Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Leadership & Performance: Set clear goals, provide mentoring, conduct 1-2-1s, manage probation reviews, and address performance issues.
  • Team Management: Handle leave requests, ensure business continuity, and maintain morale.
  • Quality Control: Supervise key documents, audit team work, and offer constructive feedback.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Engage with fellow team leaders, department managers, and directors to align objectives, share knowledge, and improve processes.
  • Compliance & Growth: Adhere to firm policies, contribute to strategic planning, and stay informed on legal developments.

By leading with a supportive and proactive approach, you will drive team success and contribute to the firm's overall objectives.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' litigation experience.
  • At least 6 months' housing disrepair experience.
  • Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication – written and verbal.
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Able to handle high-volume caseloads and meet deadlines.
