Job Description
- Oversee and lead the Private Client department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services.
- Manage and supervise a team of solicitors, legal executives, and support staff, providing mentorship, guidance, and training.
- Drive business development initiatives to grow the department’s client base and strengthen the firm’s presence in the market.
- Handle a portfolio of complex and high-value matters, including Wills, Probate, Trusts, Inheritance Tax Planning, and Court of Protection work.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Set and monitor departmental targets, budgets, and performance objectives in line with the firm’s wider strategy.
- Foster strong client relationships, delivering practical and empathetic advice tailored to individual client needs.
- Collaborate with other Heads of Department to contribute to the overall success and growth of the firm.
What We’re Looking For:
- A qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with significant experience in Private Client law (ideally 6+ years’ PQE).
- Proven track record of managing or supervising a team within a Private Client department.
- Strong technical expertise across Wills, Probate, Trusts, Inheritance Tax Planning, and Court of Protection.
- Commercial acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities for growth and drive business development.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and develop others.
- A proactive and strategic mindset, with the confidence to lead a busy and growing department.
