Property Associate – Energy & Infrastructure Property Team

Douglas Scott is working alongside a top-tier international law firm, seeking talented Property associates to join their highly regarded Energy Property Team, which is part of their expanding global Property Group. This is a great opportunity to work with a market-leading team at the forefront of energy and infrastructure property law.

This role offers the chance to work within the largest energy and infrastructure property practice in the UK. The team is renowned for its expertise and innovative approach, advising on major projects across the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Our client’s Energy Property Team is deeply embedded in the energy industry and serves a wide range of clients, including landowners, developers, funders, and investors. The team is highly active across technologies, including offshore and onshore wind, solar, hydrogen, carbon capture, battery storage, and nuclear projects.

Candidates can be based in any of the firm’s Aberdeen, Edinburgh, or Glasgow offices. The ideal candidates will have 3–6 years’ PQE, be qualified in Scotland, and have relevant experience in the property aspects of energy and/or major infrastructure projects.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:

  1. Scottish-qualified lawyer with 3–6 years’ PQE.
  2. Proven experience in energy and/or infrastructure property work, gained in a large regional or national practice.
  3. Strong academic background with a proactive and commercially aware mindset.
  4. A track record of business development and building strong client relationships.
  5. Team player with a client-focused, enthusiastic approach.
  6. This role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work on a diverse range of nationally significant transactions, across sectors such as wind, solar, hydrogen, and carbon capture, for a range of public and private sector clients.
