Douglas Scott are working with an established national Commercial department that is continuing to grow and is now seeking an experienced Associate/Senior Associate to play a key role within its Corporate & Commercial Litigation team. The department advises a wide range of public‑ and private‑sector clients across healthcare, local authorities, emergency services, and social housing. The work spans the full project lifecycle — from structuring and operational support through to termination, expiry, and the full spectrum of disputes that arise along the way.
You will join a high‑performing, collaborative team handling complex, high‑value commercial and procurement disputes, many of which are strategically important and sector‑leading. This is a role that offers genuine responsibility, outstanding career progression, and exposure to major national workstreams.
The Role- Lead and support on a broad caseload of commercial disputes, with a strong emphasis on public procurement challenges and complex contractual litigation.
- Act for predominantly public‑sector clients across health, local government, emergency services, and social housing.
- Manage matters from early strategy through to High Court proceedings and all forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
- Work closely with clients, counsel, sector experts, and colleagues across the commercial practice.
- Take on early responsibility for client relationships and help drive forward the development of the commercial litigation offering.
- Proven experience in public procurement disputes and complex commercial litigation.
- Minimum 3+ PQE.
- Excellent drafting skills and the ability to produce clear, strategic advice.
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence managing clients, counsel, and experts.
- Experience preparing for and running High Court litigation, as well as ADR.
- Strong organisation, time‑management, and an eye for detail.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across contentious and non‑contentious teams.
