A leading UK commercial law firm is looking to appoint an Associate with at least 1.5 Years PQE into its growing Commercial, Technology & Data team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with experience across commercial contracts, technology matters and data protection work who is looking to join a genuinely progressive, collaborative and ambitious platform outside of the London market.
The role offers exposure to a broad mix of high-quality national and international work, including:
- Advising technology businesses, SaaS providers and scale-ups on product launches and commercialisation strategies
- Negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements, including cloud services, outsourcing and software licensing arrangements
- Supporting major clients across sectors including retail, financial services, infrastructure and energy on strategic technology projects
- Advising on data protection, cybersecurity and cross-border data matters, including DPIAs, DSARs, international transfers and breach response planning
- Working alongside highly regarded corporate and private equity teams on the commercial and technology aspects of transactions
- Exposure to emerging technologies, including AI products and services
We are looking for candidates who have gained solid experience within commercial contracts, technology and/or data protection matters, are interested in innovation and the evolving technology landscape, and want strong quality work whilst maintaining a more balanced and sustainable environment than many London platforms can offer. Candidates should be open to building their long-term profile within a growing regional market.
