Overview
I am working alongside a leading US law firm who are looking for a Senior Associate (4-8 PQE) to join their Competition and Antitrust team in London. The team is highly regarded for advising private equity clients and corporates on complex, high-value transactions, providing strategic antitrust and regulatory guidance on some of the most significant deals in the market. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with deep transactional antitrust experience to join a growing, market-leading practice.
The Team
The London Competition and Antitrust team is a prestigious, high-profile practice advising on a wide range of antitrust matters. Its work spans mergers, joint ventures, private equity transactions, and regulatory investigations, often involving multiple jurisdictions. The team is known for delivering strategic, commercially focused advice and works closely with colleagues across the US and other key markets, giving team members exposure to cross-border, high-stakes mandates.
The Role
The Senior Associate will be involved in complex, high-value transactions and merger control matters, particularly for private equity clients. Responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting merger control filings with the CMA, EU Commission, and other regulators.
- Advising clients on competition law risks and strategic mitigation across transactional and regulatory contexts.
- Drafting and reviewing key transaction documents, regulatory submissions, and internal memos.
- Coordinating multi-jurisdictional teams and liaising with colleagues in the US and elsewhere.
- Supporting partners in managing client relationships, business development, and mentoring junior team members.
The Ideal Candidate
- 4-8 PQE qualified solicitor with substantial competition/antitrust experience, ideally in a transactional or private equity setting.
- Proven track record advising on complex merger control, joint ventures, and cross-border deals.
- Strong commercial awareness, analytical skills, and drafting ability.
- Experience handling multi-jurisdictional filings and coordinating with international teams.
- Confident in managing client matters independently, building relationships, and contributing to the growth of the practice.
