An award-winning, leading law firm with an international presence is currently looking to expand their Healthcare team in Central London with an additional Healthcare Inquest Solicitor. This role provides the opportunity for a Healthcare Inquest Solicitor to join one of the fastest growing business groups of this Top Tier law firm. Year on year, the team has grown to over 100 lawyers that are able to provide Healthcare advice and support to the NHS and independent healthcare organisations throughout the nation.

Within this role you will be undertaking a wide range of advisory work for the NHS and other public/private organisations. You will be regularly advising clients on a wide range of issues including inquest, public inquiries, best interests applications, claims for judicial review, mental health law, patient care issues, and clinical and corporate governance matters.

What work the team deal with:

  • Inquests, including advocacy
  • Court of Protection, treatment and best interest cases including advocacy
  • Advising on public law issues such as public and patient involvement and consultation, governance and constitutional issues, judicial review and human rights
  • Advising on matters of general healthcare law including patient complaints, SUI and Ombudsman investigations, and a variety of other health sector legislation and guidance including mental health
  • Advising on care standards legislation and practice and information governance matters

What skills/qualifications you must have:

  • Qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales
  • Previous Healthcare Inquest experience, including advocacy
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team – excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • COP/ Litigation skills would also be desirable
