Residential Property Solicitor - Partnership Level
Location: Putney, South West London
Salary: Β£80,000+ (depending on experience)
Partnership potential
The Role
A firm I am working with is seeking an experienced Residential Property Solicitor to join our established conveyancing team in Putney. This is a partnership-level opportunity for a solicitor looking for a long-term career move with genuine scope to progress towards partnership.
The successful candidate will manage their own caseload while taking a senior role within the department, supporting colleagues and contributing to the day-to-day management and strategic development of the conveyancing team.
This role has been created to provide additional senior support within the department and to allow the current leadership team to focus more on the wider management and development of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of residential property matters from instruction through to completion.
- Handle all aspects of residential conveyancing.
- Provide guidance, support and mentoring to members of the conveyancing team.
- Assist with the management and development of the residential property department.
- Take responsibility for your own workload while supporting the wider team.
- Contribute to the efficient running and continued development of the department.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and other professional contacts.
- Identify opportunities to grow and develop the department and contribute to the wider business.
- Play a senior role in shaping the future direction of the residential property team.
About You
We are looking for an experienced residential property solicitor who is confident managing their own caseload and is ready to operate at partnership level.
You will ideally have:
- Strong experience in residential property and conveyancing.
- The ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload.
- Strong communication and client-management skills.
- A willingness to support, mentor and help manage colleagues.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in developing the department.
- The confidence and ambition to take on a senior leadership role.
- The ability to contribute to the wider strategic and commercial development of the firm.
- A genuine interest in progressing towards, or taking on, a partnership-level position.
A following or existing client base would be advantageous, particularly given current market conditions, but is not essential. The firm is open to candidates who can demonstrate strong technical ability, commercial awareness and the potential to develop a significant client following.
The Team
You will join an established conveyancing team of approximately six people. Everyone manages their own matters, but the successful candidate will play an important senior role in supporting colleagues, mentoring the team and helping to manage the department.
This is an opportunity to join a well-established team while having a meaningful influence on its continued growth and development.
Salary & Progression
The salary for this partnership-level role will be a minimum of Β£80,000, with the final package reflecting the candidate's experience, seniority and potential contribution to the firm.
The firm is particularly interested in candidates who are looking for a long-term career move with a clear route towards partnership and who want to play an active role in the future development of the business.
Working Hours & Flexibility
- Standard office hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm.
- The firm prefers employees to work predominantly from the office.
- Hybrid working is available, with the opportunity to work from home for up to a couple of days per week.
- Working arrangements can be negotiated depending on the individual and their circumstances.
Recruitment Process
The firm is currently interviewing candidates and is taking a considered approach to the appointment rather than rushing the process.
Interviews can be arranged either in person at the Putney office or via Teams, depending on the candidate's preference and circumstances.
