Are you passionate about delivering care that truly makes a difference? We are looking for dedicated Health Care Support Workers to join our Adult Inpatient Services team at Dougie Mac. Our 28-bed specialist unit supports adults with life-limiting conditions, offering both palliative and end-of-life care. You will be part of a 24/7 multidisciplinary team, ensuring patients receive outstanding holistic care in a calm, supportive environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide high-quality personal and physical care to patients
- Support individuals and their families with dignity and compassion
- Observe and report any changes in patient condition
- Assist in the last days of life care and bereavement support
- Follow individual care plans and maintain accurate documentation
- Uphold hospice values, infection control and confidentiality standards
- Engage in training and continuous development opportunities
Qualifications:
- Experience in a caring or healthcare role
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player who can also work independently
- Flexible to work a variety of day and night shifts
- Numeracy and literacy skills (GCSEs or equivalent or willingness to work towards)
Desirable:
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care
- Experience in palliative care or hospice settings
- Confidence working with patients and families in a clinical environment
