We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance Team on an 18-month Fixed Term Contract. This dual Accounts and Payroll role will provide support across both functions and offers the opportunity to support a range of financial processes, from weekly and monthly payroll administration to purchase and sales ledger activities, bank reconciliations, credit control, and financial record keeping. Working as part of a supportive team, you'll play a key role in helping us deliver accurate payroll and accounting services while contributing to ongoing improvements as we implement new finance systems and processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with finance or payroll experience who is looking to develop their skills across both disciplines in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the accurate and timely processing of weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Assist in the purchase ledger process, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and authorised.
  • Assist with sales ledger activities, including raising invoices, allocating receipts and supporting credit control processes to maintain strong cash flow and minimise overdue debt.
  • Assist with monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Support Accounts and Payroll teams with other administrative tasks.

About You

  • Experience of working within a finance or payroll environment.
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation.
  • Understanding of financial controls.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Salary: £27,000 FTE (£16,200 actual salary)

Hours: 3 days - 22.5 hours a week (Monday, Thursday & Friday)
