We are seeking friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-focused individuals to join our library team. This is an exciting opportunity to help support a welcoming community space that promotes reading, learning, creativity, and inclusion for people of all ages.
As a Library Assistant, you must be able to deliver excellent customer service, support visitors with enquiries and library services, and assist in the delivery of a wide range of activities and community events.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Essential
- 3 GCSE’s, including English, Grade C or above or equivalent
- Sufficient library or customer service experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to deal with the public in a positive, friendly and courteous manner
- Ability to carry out clerical duties effectively and accurately including handling and reconciling small sums of money
- Ability to deliver excellent levels of customer service at all times and deal with complaints in a positive and constructive manner
- Ability to use computers in carrying out library related duties
- Highly self‑motivated, proactive with a ’can‑do’ attitude
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- A commitment to team working and a flexible approach to working patterns which includes Saturday working
