CLEANING SUPERVISOR – CITY HALL

Part time – 15 hpw (Mon – Fri: 17:15 pm – 20:15 pm)

Grade 4, SCP 16 - 22 (£29,731 - £35,225 pro rata)

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Cleaning Supervisor to support the delivery of a high-quality cleaning service within City Hall, one of the Island’s key civic buildings, to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for employees, Members and visitors. This is a hands‑on role combining the supervision of cleaning staff with practical cleaning duties including supporting civic and mayoral events (when required).

Person Specification

Essential

  • Knowledge and understanding of cleaning practices, use of appropriate chemicals and associated safety principles relevant to job e.g., manual handling, safe use of machinery and equipment
  • Thorough understanding of household and commercial cleaning techniques and appropriate products
  • Ability to organise own workload and that of others ensuring required outcomes are achieved.
  • Ability to identify everyday issues and make changes as required to the work routine.
  • Ability to monitor job activities as required.
  • Ability to exercise care in the use of information acquired in the course of official duties and to protect information held in confidence.
  • Ability to perform cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning office and welfare facility areas, replenishing consumable items in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete a planned routine of tasks within an allocated time.
  • Ability to operate basic equipment.
