18.5 hours per week (Monday – Wednesday)

Grade: 6, SCP 24 – 30 (£37,374 - £45,313 pro-rata)

We are seeking to recruit to the post of part-time Administrative & Support Officer on a maternity cover basis. The role is working in a busy environment where you will be the initial point of contact for external/internal bodies and members of the public. You will occasionally provide cover for the other Council reception points when required.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential:

  • 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths. Grade C or above or equivalent
  • Experience in an administrative role or similar post
  • Excellent telephone manner, good organisational skills and experience of working with the general public, face to face and via the telephone with the ability to respond appropriately and helpfully
  • Excellent team working, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • A flexible approach and the ability to deal with changing priorities
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, innovative and capable of working under pressure
  • Ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a team
  • ICT Literate

Desirable:

  • An interest in marketing and event management
  • Experience of local government
  • An understanding of the operations and functions of a local authority
  • Political sensitivity
