We are seeking to recruit to the post of part-time Administrative & Support Officer on a maternity cover basis. The role is working in a busy environment where you will be the initial point of contact for external/internal bodies and members of the public. You will occasionally provide cover for the other Council reception points when required.

SELECTION CRITERIAEssential:
- 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths. Grade C or above or equivalent
- Experience in an administrative role or similar post
- Excellent telephone manner, good organisational skills and experience of working with the general public, face to face and via the telephone with the ability to respond appropriately and helpfully
- Excellent team working, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
- A flexible approach and the ability to deal with changing priorities
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, innovative and capable of working under pressure
- Ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a team
- ICT Literate
Desirable:
- An interest in marketing and event management
- Experience of local government
- An understanding of the operations and functions of a local authority
- Political sensitivity
