We are looking for a reliable and detail-focused Nightshift Picking & Packing Operative to join our bakery team. This role is essential in ensuring all wholesale orders are accurately prepared, packed, and ready for dispatch in line with tight overnight deadlines. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, committed to maintaining high standards, and able to work effectively as part of a team during night hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Picking & Packing
- Accurately pick and assemble wholesale orders from bakery stock.
- Count and organise the correct quantities of different products for each order.
- Pack and wrap bakery goods carefully to maintain quality and presentation.
- Prepare orders for dispatch within set timeframes.
- Slice bread using a bread slicing machine safely and efficiently.
- Print and apply product labels using the internal labelling system, ensuring all products are correctly labelled and compliant with standards.
- Work collaboratively with the nightshift team to meet deadlines.
- Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed within schedule.
- Adapt to changing workloads and priorities during busy periods.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area at all times.
- Carry out general cleaning duties in line with food hygiene standards.
- Follow all health and safety procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to work night shifts (typically 7:00pm – 3:00am).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Physically capable of standing for long periods and handling bakery products.
