The Role:
In the CNC Engineer role, you'll report to the Technical Manager and will be primarily responsible for building assemblies using Solidworks. You will need to be experienced in CNC and CAM or other 3D engineering packages which are similar. The ability to make 2D drawings and create 3D models will also be the main responsibility of this role alongside liaising with manufacturing teams and offering technical assistance.
Specifically, you'll be tasked with building and creating assemblies in Solidworks and supporting the factory team on any technical issues that may arise. A solid technical ability to understand 3 Axis and 5 Axis machines and processes is also key in order to enhance future processes within the manufacturing factory. This position is based in the company's Chester office, so please ensure that's within a reasonable commutable distance for you before you apply.
The Candidate:
To be the right person for the CNC Engineer role you will need direct experience in Solidworks, CAM & CNC. We also need you to have prior experience of:
- Building assemblies and creating 3D Solidworks models
- Production engineering, fabrication or manufacturing
- Shopfitting, facades, architectural aluminium, joinery, architectural metalwork or glazing
It's important that you also have the following:
- Expert knowledge of Solidworks, CNC and CAM
- Understanding of factory floor processes with 3 Axis and 5 Axis machines
- Sound technical coordination management skills
