What we want from you
- To drive the consistent delivery of customer service initiatives through the departments and evaluate the success of the initiatives
- To evaluate and act on Customer Service Reports, Social Media Reviews and Guest Questionnaires to achieve positive and consistent results
- To review and act upon customer feedback relevant to your areas of responsibility to achieve positive and consistent results
Be Business Aware:
- To take accountability for the total hotel operation in the absence of the General Manager
- To assist the General Manager in the production of the annual hotel budget
- To keep yourself informed of the hotels goals and objectives, maximizing the role you play in delivering the hotel budgeted profit and targets
- To ensure food and beverage sales, profit and other related targets are exceeded
- To benefit payroll costs by allocating resources in line with forecasted and actual consumer levels, and through productivity ratios
- To control departmental operating costs in line with business levels to achieve budget
- To ensure purchasing is controlled in line with forecasted business by effective use of the Purchasing System
- To oversee and monitor Operational Departmental Managers forecasts on a weekly and three monthly basis as required
Able to Grow the Business:
- To assist the General Manager in the production of the hotel Sales and Marketing Plan
- To develop new opportunities to grow operational departmental sales to meet and exceed budget
- To assist with maintaining a selling culture throughout the hotel
People Management:
- To co-ordinate the recruitment of new Operational Departmental Managers and Supervisors in conjunction with General Manager and HR Manager in line with the Company Recruitment Policy
- To lead the Operational Department Managers and create a team environment which promotes good employee morale and ensures a high level of commitment and pride in the hotel
- To ensure effective communication with Operational Department Managers by holding regular briefing sessions and meetings
- To carry out quality training and development in a systematic and professional way in order to meet the needs of the business and assist in individual Team Members personal development To ensure training is recorded and all Team Members complete the Company Induction Program
- To continuously coach and support the team
- To review the performance of Operational Departmental Managers every six months, following Company guidelines
- To set clear objectives for Operational Departmental Managers linked with the hotels Business Plan
- To correct unacceptable behavior and performance in line with the Company disciplinary procedures
- To produce the Guest Relations Manager roster
Controlling the Environment:
- To ensure the hotel operates effectively on a day to day basis, ensuring Company brand standards are met and delivered consistently, with attention to detail
- To ensure all Fire, Health and Safety, Food Safety, Risk Assessment, Licensing Laws, Disability and all employment legislation is strictly adhered to and all Team Members are trained accordingly
- To comply with your responsibilities under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order as detailed in the Fire Safety Management System
- To evaluate and co-ordinate action on Hygiene Audits in order to enhance the environment and achieve positive consistent results
- To undertake the role of Hotel Health and Safety Officer
