We’re seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team and contribute to the seamless operation of our hotel facilities. The ideal candidate possesses the following qualities:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in maintenance tasks – plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems (we will provide relevant training where necessary).

Day in the life of:
As the Maintenance Operative, you will take joint responsibility with the manager to ensure the hotel is maintained to a high standard and to ensure that the property is a safe environment for the guests and staff, conforming to the requirements as laid out under the Health and Safety legislation. You will need to be flexible to work shifts on bank holidays, evenings, weekends and any other holidays as requested.
Example key responsibilities:
- Painting and decorating of public areas and guest bedrooms
- Fixing minor plumbing issues
- Fixing minor electrical issues
- Preventative maintenance for all the guest bedrooms, including auditing and reviewing
- Water checks daily, weekly and monthly
- Weekly fire alarm testing and checks
- Picking up ad‑hoc maintenance issues registered by the team
- Use of the internal H&S/Maintenance systems
- Monitoring the H&S and working order of all public areas, including toilets (including front of house and back of house)
- Keeping the immediate exterior of the hotel presentable, free from litter and in good working order, and organising the rubbish bins
- Changing light bulbs in all areas of the hotel daily
- Assisting the Property Manager with health and safety files and risk assessments
- Keeping the maintenance workshop clean, tidy and fully stocked
- Communicating with all the HOD's and supporting them with H&S issues
