We are looking for a skilled and detail focused Tekla Draughtsperson/Detailer to join our growing team at Double Check Digital Engineering Ltd. You will be responsible for producing accurate 3D structural steel models and detailed fabrication/erection drawings using Tekla Structures, working closely with our engineering and design team to deliver high-quality outputs for a range of steel construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed 3D models using Tekla Structures for structural steel projects
  • Generate general arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection drawings
  • Interpret architectural and engineering drawings/specifications accurately
  • Liaise with engineers, project managers, and fabricators to resolve design queries
  • Check and coordinate models against structural calculations and site requirements
  • Manage revisions and ensure drawings are kept up to date throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support clash detection and coordination with other trades where required
  • Maintain drawing registers and ensure our ISO 9001 quality control standards are met

Please note that this position is a UK office-based role, Remote working is NOT an option. Applicants must be a full UK resident and permitted to work in the UK.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience working as a Tekla Draughtsman/Detailer within structural steelwork or construction
  • Proficient in Tekla Structures (essential)
  • Strong understanding of structural steel detailing standards and fabrication processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings
  • Good working knowledge of Grasshopper (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Relevant qualification in engineering, construction, or draughting (HNC/HND or equivalent experience) desirable
  • Full UK driving licence desirable
  • Would consider applicants from a skilled Steel fabrication background that can demonstrate good IT skills, with a view to providing further training
