Double Barrelled is a modern, independent brewery based in Reading, Berkshire. Founded by husband and wife, Mike, and Luci in 2015, the business has grown from them brewing their own wedding favours, to becoming an established brewery in Tilehurst with a beautiful Tap room.
Double Barrelled specialises in beers focusing on quality, drinkability, and balanced flavours. The flagship beers are:
- Kitchen Disco (5.8%): A hazy IPA full of tropical sun-drenched island vibes.
As a family-owned, community-focused business, Double Barrelled prioritises social responsibility and sustainability; almost all the beers are vegan-friendly. The on-site Taproom serves as a hub for the local community.
Double Barrelled are seeking an ambitious, analytical, and relationship-driven Key Account Manager (KAM) to spearhead our commercial growth. The focus will be driving new business through the RPG / MRG on-trade over London, Home Counties and our Heartland of Reading and surrounding.
You will have one Reading based BDM and one Telesales Account Executive to support the growth of the new business.
You will be negotiating joint business plans with groups and RTMs to drive profitable revenue growth.
Our core strategy is to replicate the success we’ve seen in the off-trade / multiple grocers, over the on-trade/ groups with a laser focus on Parka draft.
Role Overview:
As Key Account Manager you will be driving new business through the RPG / MRG on-trade over London, Home Counties and our Heartland of Reading and surrounding. You will combine deep industry knowledge with category analytics to pitch our core range, secure listings and negotiate annual contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving New Business: Use existing relationships and knowledge to access and win regional key accounts (RPGs / MRGs) to deliver volume, revenue, and margin targets.
- Commercial & Price Negotiation: Lead annual contract negotiations, promotional strategies, and pricing to maximize profitability.
- Promotional & On-Trade Marketing Execution: Work alongside Marketing to oversee trade marketing initiatives, digital feature campaigns, and tap takeovers/events across key on-trade groups.
- Forecasting & P&L Management: Manage account-level P&L, trade spend budgets, and supply forecasts in close coordination with the brewing and logistics teams.
- Category & Market Insights: Bring a good level of previous experience working with ideally a larger scale brewery bringing sound category and on-trade market insights.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 3–5+ years of Drinks or Beer sales experience, with a proven track record managing Key Accounts - On-Trade pub groups and wholesalers.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of on-trade margin structures, promotional ROI analysis, and P&L mechanics within the drinks industry.
- People Management: experience in managing a sales team is an advantage, but not necessary initially.
- Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated experience leading complex negotiations and executing JBPs with high-stakes buyers.
- Industry & Product Knowledge: Strong passion for the beer category and the broader hospitality landscape.
- Data-Driven Mindset: Proficiency with sales analytics tools, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Excel to build business cases.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, trade shows, and field visits.

- Competitive Package: £50K per annum plus £5K car allowance plus performance bonus based on individual/company performance, up to 10% of base salary, awarded on a 50:50 split between total business performance and individual performance.
