We have partnered exclusively with a well-established, £120m turnover group to appoint a Finance Manager as part of its succession planning, with a clear and supported route into a Financial Controller position. The role sits within a sizeable, multi-site finance function and works closely with senior leadership to maintain strong controls, improve reporting and support commercial decision making.

The finance team totals 15, with 5 direct reports into this role. The business is open to considering candidates who are either experienced Finance Managers or those developing into a Finance Manager position and ready for increased responsibility.

The role includes:

  • Lead and manage a team of 5
  • Own the month-end timetable and reporting deadlines
  • Review monthly management accounts across multiple business units
  • Analyse sales, margin, stock, debtors and creditors
  • Review and challenge cost centres and departmental spend
  • Review P&L with clear supporting commentary
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and post provisions as required
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning
  • Support working capital management across the group
  • Review stock valuation and stock movements across multiple sites
  • Drive improvements in controls, processes and reporting accuracy
  • Act as escalation point for technical accounting queries
  • Business partner with operational leaders to support performance and controls
  • Support ERP implementation and finance process improvements
  • Support year-end statutory accounts preparation
  • Assist and support the Financial Controller and deputise where required

Requirements:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or QBE
  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager role
  • Background in manufacturing and/or retail environments
  • Experience within £50m turnover, multi-site businesses
  • Experience managing and developing finance teams
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets
