The Role

As an Accounts Assistant Manager, you\’ll play a key role in managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, and supporting junior team members. You\’ll work closely with Managers and Partners, providing high-quality advice and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, SMEs, and limited companies
  • Reviewing year‑end accounts, management accounts, and corporation tax computations
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, providing support and technical guidance
  • Supervising and mentoring junior members of the accounts team
  • Supporting workflow management to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met
  • Assisting with business development and identifying opportunities to add value for clients

About You

  • ACA / ACCA qualified (or finalist) with solid post‑qualification experience in practice
  • Strong background in accounts preparation and client management
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines, delegate effectively, and review work to a high standard
  • Experience with cloud‑based software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar
