The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant to join a growing accountancy firm in
North Shields .
The firm is looking for a well-rounded
Accounts Senior who enjoys variety and wants to work across accounts, tax and bookkeeping rather than becoming too specialised.
You'll work closely with a broad range of clients, taking responsibility for their day-to-day accounting requirements while continuing to develop your technical and client-facing skills.

The Role
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts
- Working with limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
- Supporting clients with personal tax matters where required
- Completing bookkeeping assignments
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
- Producing management accounts where required
- Working directly with clients to resolve accounting queries
- Maintaining accurate accounting records
- Supporting clients with their ongoing compliance requirements
- Building strong, long-term relationships with clients
- Working closely with Managers and Directors on more complex assignments
There is no requirement to undertake audit work , making this particularly suitable for someone who wants to develop their career within accounts and general practice.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have
- Around 3-4+ years' experience within a UK accountancy practice
- AAT Level 4 qualification, or be studying towards ACA/ACCA
- Strong experience preparing year-end accounts
- Good working knowledge of corporation tax
- Bookkeeping and VAT experience
- Experience dealing directly with clients
- Good communication and organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
- A proactive and dependable approach
