This is an opportunity to join a growing, advisory-led accountancy practice with a strong reputation across the North West. The firm has experienced significant growth in recent years and continues to invest heavily in its people, client relationships and service offering. They are now looking to strengthen their Accounts team with the appointment of a Senior Accountant. This role would suit an experienced practice professional looking for a position that offers a mix of technical work, client interaction and team leadership, whilst providing clear opportunities for progression.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will manage a portfolio of clients and play a key role in delivering a high-quality service across accounts and tax matters.
Responsibilities- Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts
- Preparing corporation tax returns and director personal tax returns
- Managing a portfolio of owner-managed business clients
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients
- Reviewing work completed by junior team members
- Providing coaching, mentoring and support to developing staff
- Managing workflow and ensuring deadlines are met
- Monitoring client profitability and identifying opportunities to improve fee recovery
- Supporting wider advisory and business development initiatives
- Identifying opportunities to introduce additional services to existing clients
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- ACA or ACCA qualification
- Minimum of 3 years' post-qualified experience within accountancy practice
- Strong technical accounts knowledge including FRS102, FRS102 1A and FRS105
- Experience preparing and reviewing consolidated accounts
- Strong client-facing skills
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach
