The Role
Working closely with Managers and Directors, you'll take responsibility for a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
- Producing management accounts and financial information
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients
- Building strong, long-term relationships with business owners
- Providing proactive accounting and business advice
- Supporting clients with cloud accounting software and improving their accounting processes
- Identifying tax planning and wider advisory opportunities
- Reviewing work prepared by junior members of the team
- Coaching and supporting trainees and Semi Seniors
- Working closely with Managers and Directors on more complex client matters
- Ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- ACA or ACCA qualification, although strong qualified-by-experience candidates will also be considered
- Strong experience within UK accountancy practice
- Experience preparing statutory accounts for owner-managed businesses
- Good corporation tax knowledge
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Confidence dealing directly with business owners
- Experience reviewing or supporting junior team members
- Good knowledge of cloud accounting software
- A proactive approach and an interest in developing beyond traditional compliance work
