The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to join a rapidly growing Top 40 accountancy and business advisory group in its
Chester office .
The firm has grown significantly in recent years but remains focused on developing its people and creating genuine opportunities for progression.
As a
Semi Senior Accountant , you'll work closely with experienced Seniors and Managers while developing your own client relationships and taking greater responsibility for accounts preparation, management accounts and tax.
This is an ideal move if you're currently studying towards ACA or ACCA and want a role that will give you the experience, support and responsibility needed to progress quickly towards Senior Accountant level.
The Role
You'll become an integral part of an experienced Accounts team, working with a varied portfolio of clients and gaining exposure to both compliance and advisory work.
Responsibilities will include
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts
- Producing management accounts and financial information for clients
- Preparing corporation tax computations
- Calculating personal tax liabilities
- Identifying potential tax planning opportunities
- Working closely with Senior Accountants and Managers on client assignments
- Building strong, long-term relationships with clients
- Supporting clients with Xero and cloud accounting technology
- Helping clients improve their accounting processes
- Working collaboratively with Tax and other specialist departments
- Getting to know clients' businesses and identifying opportunities to add value
- Coaching and supporting Accounts Trainees as your experience develops
- The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have
- Experience working within a UK accountancy practice
- Be part-qualified and currently studying towards ACA or ACCA
- Experience preparing statutory accounts
- Exposure to corporation tax and personal tax
- Good knowledge of cloud accounting software
- Confidence communicating directly with clients
- A proactive and ambitious approach to career development
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- A collaborative approach to working within a team
- Experience with CCH would be advantageous but isn't essential
