Reports to: Founders / Executive Leadership
Dose of Society is a human-first media company that tells stories designed to make people feel, think and connect. With a global audience of more than 10 million followers and billions of monthly views, we create culturally relevant content for Gen Z and Millennial audiences — and help leading brands communicate in a way that feels real, relatable and human.
As we expand our original content slate across new verticals — including tech, music, health, beauty, finance and relationships — we're looking for a senior content leader to build the creative vision, operating system and team behind our next stage of growth.
The Role
The Head of Content will own the end-to-end content vision and operation for Dose of Society, sitting above the Social Media Manager and overseeing everything from audience insight and format development through production, publishing and franchise growth. This isn't a purely strategic or traditional creative-director role. We need an operator who knows social content through and through — someone who can spot a powerful idea, turn it into a repeatable format, raise the quality of execution, and build the systems that let a team deliver consistently at scale. Your mandate: make every piece of Dose content feel distinctive, audience-led and built to become valuable intellectual property. Your ultimate goal is to build the next generation of Dose-owned shows and franchises - formats audiences actively seek out, return to, and recognise as uniquely Dose.
What you'll own
- Content and creative strategy
- Set and continually evolve our company-wide content strategy across platforms, audiences and verticals
- Define the creative standard, editorial point of view, tone of voice and visual consistency of Dose of Society
- Translate business priorities, cultural trends and audience insights into a clear content roadmap
- Original IP and format development
- Lead the development and launch of social-first shows and recurring franchises across tech, music, health, beauty, finance, relationships and future verticals
- Build pilots, test formats, and make greenlight, iterate or stop decisions using creative judgment and performance data
- Develop successful formats into scalable IP that extends across platforms, talent, brand partnerships and live experiences
- Social and editorial leadership
- Manage and develop the Social Media Manager, ensuring channel plans reflect the wider content strategy
- Oversee how content is edited, packaged, distributed and repurposed across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat and emerging platforms
- Raise the standard of hooks, storytelling, pacing, thumbnails, copy and audience retention
- Content operations and production
- Own the end-to-end content workflow: commissioning, production, approvals, scheduling and delivery
- Establish processes, calendars and quality controls that let a high-volume team move fast without lowering standards
- Partner with producers to manage budgets, timelines and production risk
- Team and cross-functional leadership
- Lead and coach the people responsible for social, editorial, production and post-production
- Work closely with Partnerships, Brand, Sales and Talent so content plans are creatively ambitious and commercially viable
- Present the content vision, slate and performance to founders and senior leadership
- Performance and growth
- Define the scorecard for each channel, vertical and format — reach, retention, engagement, output efficiency and commercial value
- Track platform shifts, competitor activity and emerging creator trends to keep Dose ahead of the curve
What success looks like
- A clear, company-wide content strategy every team understands and can execute
- A consistent pipeline of distinctive, repeatable social-first formats across new verticals
- Successful formats developing into recognisable, commercially valuable Dose-owned IP
- A high-performing content team with strong creative judgment and clear career development
What we're looking for
- Significant experience leading content for a social-first publisher, media company, production company, digital studio, creator business or culturally relevant brand
- A strong track record of developing original formats and taking them from idea to launch, iteration and scale
- Deep, practical knowledge of short-form video, social storytelling and platform behaviour
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across social, editorial and production
- A rare blend of creative taste and operational discipline
- Commercial awareness and experience working with partnerships or sales teams on branded content
You’ll thrive here if you're
- Curious — energised by people, culture and the stories shaping Gen Z and Millennial lives globally
- Audience-obsessed — you instinctively ask why someone would stop, watch, care and come back
- Ideas-led — you can spot a strong premise and make it sharper and more ownable
- Hands-on — comfortable in edits, brainstorms, production reviews and performance meetings
- Decisive — you give clear direction, protect quality, and know when to move on
- Entrepreneurial — you enjoy building new verticals and teams, not just inheriting them
- Collaborative — you unite creative, commercial and operational priorities
