We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Chief Engineer to lead the engineering and maintenance function at Dorsett Shepherds Bush, London.
As Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel’s Maintenance Department, ensuring that all building services, systems, plant, equipment, and assets are maintained to the highest standards.
You will take overall responsibility for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the hotel’s engineering systems.
Working closely with the hotel management team, you will lead and develop the engineering team, oversee planned preventative and reactive maintenance, and ensure that the hotel’s plant, equipment, guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities remain in excellent working condition.
The successful candidate will have strong experience in HVAC and air-conditioning systems, together with a proactive approach to fault-finding, preventative maintenance, and maintaining high engineering standards.

Lead, motivate, and develop the hotel engineering and maintenance team.
Manage planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance programmes.
Monitor and maintain chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, ventilation systems, and associated HVAC equipment.
Ensure all statutory inspections, servicing, and compliance requirements are completed.
Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce utility costs.
Respond effectively to engineering emergencies and minimise disruption to guests and hotel operations.
Strong hands-on knowledge of air conditioning and HVAC systems.
Strong fault-finding skills, with experience maintaining mechanical and electrical plant.
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or Building Systems Engineering.
Electrical safety certification.
HVAC and Refrigeration: Climate control systems, chillers, and air handling units.
Building Automation Systems (BAS / BMS): Monitoring software and computerised maintenance.
NEBOSH qualified preferred
