The Cluster Director of Revenue Management will be responsible for the Revenue and Reservations departments for the London cluster of hotels of Dorsett Hospitality International, and will lead efforts to optimize inventory management and overall revenue strategies across the sub-set of hotels. This position is a leadership role and reports directly into the Area Commercial Director UK. There are currently 2 operating hotels in the UK: Dorsett Shepherds Bush, and Dao by Dorsett West London, with another two new hotels currently under construction set to open this year, including 1 that is part of our new serviced apartment brand and another Dorsett hotel in Canary Wharf.

Suitable candidates will demonstrate a successful ability to apply analytical and strategic planning competencies to balance inventory, pricing and demand to maximize rooms revenue opportunities, whilst contributing to total hotel revenue optimization. You will have great communication skills with strong problem solving and decision-making abilities. It is essential that the candidate can build solid relationships with both internal associates and partners, is results driven, and has strong organizational skills and business acumen.

The chosen candidate will implement successful revenue strategies that maximize all hotel revenue streams to achieve or exceed the monthly and annual hotel targets pertaining to RevPAR, RGI and GOP. Position has overall responsibility for managing rooms and space inventory and ensures inventory is allocated and restricted properly to maximize revenue and profits. Ensures all rates, packages, and hotel sales strategy information is built in the hotel(s)’ inventory systems. Develops and/or uses analytical tools and systems to maximize revenues and profit. Position is accountable for preparing forecasts, budgets and projections.

Duties & Responsibilities:

§Oversee revenue management and distribution strategy of the hotels and manage day to day yield operations.

§Oversee and audit the standards and operations of the reservations department.

§Lead market studies and feasibility studies as per assigned by management team to support growth for Dorsett Hospitality International

§Partner with the sales & marketing teams to achieve and exceed hotel financial targets

§Produce and lead the departmental budgets and monitoring throughout the year.

§Provide weekly dynamic forecast of expected results, variances and budget comparisons.

§To prepare and lead the revenue meeting on a weekly basis, communicating the forecast and strategy.

§To ensure that the departmental and the generic hotel SOPs are current and up to date at all times, and that all colleagues are fully trained and aware.

§Daily pick-up analysis, strategy adjustments and reporting

§Perform competitive benchmark studies and follow market trends.

§Analyze overall monthly hotel performance and provide summary report with recommendations to improve long term strategies.

§Responsible for assessing, analyzing and pricing group business strategies

§Ensure all related systems are configured correctly, validated and working to full capacity

§Ensure web site booking process is maintained up-to-date and functional.

§To drive the up-selling programme, using agreed SOP records and processes, and ensure all departmental colleagues are set personal SMART goals and targets.

§Manage and oversee strategy for all 3rd party distribution and to ensure commissions are correctly agreed and paid.

§Reduce the cost of distribution by finding new less expensive means of delivering business

§Evaluate performance of distribution partners and contracted rates (OTA, FIT, tour operator, corporate, consortia, crew, groups, etc…).

§Regularly check the input and the quality of data (segmentation, denials tracking, etc…).

§Conduct quarterly property performance review and develop strategic and tactical action

§Responsible for best practice standards to include: competitor analysis; environmental scanning; market modelling; distribution yield management; business mix yield management; length of stay yield management; inventory availability by channel; pricing control and new pricing concepts

§Inspire Hotel’s HODs to further embed a revenue management culture.

§Provide on demand reporting for corporate office and management team

§Perform any related duties and special projects as required

§To contribute to a positive and professional recruitment selection process.

§Attend internal and external training sessions as required.

§Ensure that regular one to one meetings are held with all departmental colleagues.

§Ensure that training records are in place for all colleagues and kept “alive” and current.

§To actively develop team members skills and performance through coaching and training.

§To ensure monthly departmental meetings take place.

§Ensure all new starters receive full departmental induction training and training programs are completed appropriately.

Experience & Qualifications

§5 years+ of hotel Revenue Management experience.

§A strong command of both written and spoken English is required; additional languages an asset.

§University Degree in Hotel Management, Tourism, Economic Studies or related discipline.

§Highly computer literate with a high-level command of Excel.

§Knowledgeable of hotel technology: Opera PMS, SynXis, Duetto, GDS, Siteminder is a plus!
