We are looking for Volunteer mentors to improve the lives of care experienced young people aged 18-25. As a mentor, you will provide 2-4 hours a month offering guidance, encouragement and a positive listening ear to help them overcome challenges, set goals and help them build a brighter future.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Adult volunteers from all walks of life to build stable and positive long term friendship with a care leaver through mentoring sessions.

THE ROLE INVOLVES:

  • Up to 4hrs a month of volunteering for a commitment of 1 year.
  • Build an effective relationship with a mentee.
  • Plan mentoring sessions.
  • Talk, spend time and help your mentee with essential skills for living.

TRAINING

Mandatory training dates:

  • 13th Nov 2025 - for Mentoring Training and safeguarding at Dorset Youth, Dorchester 5.30pm - 8pm
  • Date to be confirmed in December 2025 - Introduction & working with Care experienced young people, Weymouth college
