Join Dorset Police as a DSCP Safety Camera Operator
Help Make Dorset’s Roads Safer
Do you have excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail and the confidence to work independently in a professional enforcement environment?
Dorset Police is seeking a DSCP Safety Camera Operator to play a key role in reducing casualties on Dorset's roads through the deployment and operation of speed enforcement equipment and road safety technology. This is an exciting opportunity to combine public engagement, technology, investigation and road safety in a frontline support role.
Shift Pattern: Rotating 7-day shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays. Additional payments apply in line with Police Staff Council arrangements.
As a Safety Camera Operator, you will help improve road safety across Dorset by operating and maintaining fixed and mobile speed enforcement equipment, Speed Indication Devices (SIDs) and Vehicle Activated Signs (VAS). You'll work directly with members of the public, gather evidence, process offences, and occasionally present evidence in court.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. One day you could be conducting roadside enforcement, and the next reviewing evidence, processing offences, or supporting court proceedings.
