We are currently seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Prosthetist to join our successful and growing private clinic, based in Ringwood (Hampshire).
Qualifications- BSc or MSc in Prosthetics & Orthotics
- Current HCPC Registration
- Suitable level of experience working as a Prosthetist.
The Prosthetist will work within a multidisciplinary clinical team of Prosthetists, Physiotherapists, and Orthotists to deliver holistic rehabilitation, taking an independent role in assessing, fitting and delivering appropriate prosthetic prescriptions for patients with a wide range of disabilities and complex clinical needs. This role will involve managing complex trauma and amputation cases requiring long-term rehabilitation, including undertaking detailed MDT assessments and producing clinically reasoned reports to support funding approvals. Working both independently and collaboratively across a broad internal and external MDT, the successful candidate will provide high-quality prosthetic care to a diverse Dorset Orthopaedic client base.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include close collaboration with the workshop and silicone technicians to support all stages of prosthetic provision utilizing both digital and traditional manufacturing techniques to ensure optimal fit and minimal remakes. The role also includes fitting and adjusting prostheses, coordinating ongoing patient care with clinical and administrative teams, promoting efficient working practices, and contributing to innovation and service development. Opportunities to support clinical promotion through presentations and external engagement are also included. Some dual prosthetic/orthotic practice may be considered.
Additional InformationThis is a full-time role and is based on a 40-hour working week, the structure of this can be taken over 4 or 5 days to fit the current needs of the clinic and applicant. The successful candidate will be based at the Ringwood Clinic and will report directly to the Ringwood Clinical Leads.
