You will be supported closely by the ward manager and wider team who will provide a comprehensive induction programme for a Clinical Team Leader joining the Psychiatric Intensive Care service.

Clinical Team Leaders undertake a dual clinical and leadership role; acting as a deputy for the Ward Manager.
They play a key role in the day-to-day management of the ward; are a main point of contact for advice/decisions and will support, supervise and manage staff at every level.
They also assist in the delivery of local and nationally required outcomes and will often be given a lead role to manage in their own right.
PICU experience is desirable, but not essential as you will be working within an experienced multi-disciplinary team.
- The team aim to;
- Treat patients who are detained under the Mental Health Act using positive engagement, talking therapies (CBT/DBT) and medicines
- Ensuring patient and their family/carers are at the centre of their recovery journey
- Engage creatively with patients to co-produce their individual care plans
- Prioritise both mental and physical health wellness
- Engaging patients in doing a variety of activities both on the ward and off the ward
- Help patients get active, eat well and take care of their own wellbeing
- Promote freedom of choice and least restrictive practice, in a safe and therapeutic environment
You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and it is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post.
