Stanley Purser Ward, based at Swanage Community Hospital, is looking for either an experienced or new-to-care Health Care Assistant to join their team. As a Health Care Assistant, you will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team. We pride ourselves on providing the best care to patients and their families.
Our Elderly Rehabilitation and End of Life Care unit achieved a nationally recognized accreditation (Platinum award) in the Gold Standard Framework award for end-of-life care. We offer a structured induction programme, with opportunities to develop your skills clinically and professionally, including options like the Trainee Nursing Apprenticeship & the Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeship. If you are new to care and hold no healthcare experience, we offer a fantastic development opportunity with a structured plan to progress from a band 2 to a band 3 Health Care Assistant upon successful completion.
The Healthcare Assistant role involves working on a rotational basis with long days (07:30 – 20:30) and night shifts (20:00 – 08:00). Weekend and public holiday shifts are paid at an enhanced rate. Your responsibilities include assisting registered nursing staff in providing high-quality, individualized care to patients, relatives, and carers, as well as helping patients gain independence and mobility for safe discharge. You will also participate in therapeutic activities for patients.
