The project manager plays a crucial role in delivering \’Your Future Hospital\’, an ambitious initiative to modernise patient care at Dorset County Hospital (DCH). As part of the government\’s \’New Hospital Programme\’, DCH is undertaking its most significant investment and expansion since the late 1990s. The programme aims to develop a new masterplan, including a new Emergency Department, Critical Care Unit, outpatient diagnostic and assessment centre, and a new main entrance. This is a unique opportunity to participate in transforming your local hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Strategic Estates Programme Manager in delivering major capital schemes from inception to completion, including design, project management, contract administration, and site supervision.
  2. Supervise the construction stage of projects, including responsibilities under the NEC3 Works Supervisor role.
  3. Lead on smaller capital projects within the strategic team to facilitate the commencement of major projects.
  4. Ensure compliance with site rules and policies by contractors and internal teams.
  5. Communicate project elements effectively with relevant teams at appropriate times.
  6. Record and monitor minutes and actions during formal and informal meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

The strategic estates team at DCH aims to transform healthcare delivery by providing a modern, fit-for-purpose estate. Team members come from diverse backgrounds, including project management, change management, estates, clinical, and health service management.

This small, dynamic team collaborates with a range of professionals such as clinicians, architects, engineers, communications, HR, and finance staff. Project work is varied, fast-paced, and impactful, offering rewarding opportunities to shape your role and make a meaningful contribution.
