Job Title: KIT Practitioner

The KIT practitioner\’s primary role is to supervise keeping in touch sessions whilst Dorset Council are in proceedings with the children and families we are working with.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining succinct and timely records of Keeping in Touch sessions, inputting data into MOSAIC, our computer system.
  2. Quickly establishing professional working relationships with various stakeholders, including families, colleagues, and community members.
  3. Managing complex situations effectively.
  4. Traveling between locations, including visits to people\’s homes, community settings, and Children\’s Centres.

All work is subject to ongoing risk assessments and is well supported by the Keeping in Touch management team.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Skills and aptitude to work with young people and their families in various environments, such as family homes, contact centres, parks, or leisure activities.
  • Dependability, reliability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality services to children and families.
  • Experience of or a genuine interest in working with children and young people.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and communication skills.
  • The ability to build positive professional relationships and earn trust.
  • Creativity and adaptability to respond to changing situations.
  • Energy and patience.
