What you can expect to be doing:

  • Business Support: Respond to business enquiries, provide expert information and guidance, and signpost to relevant resources.
  • Event Participation: Attend and actively participate in business events, promoting the Business Growth Dorset service and the Invest in Dorset brand.
  • Project Management: Lead small-sized, low-risk projects and support larger, higher-risk projects.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as an ambassador for businesses across Dorset and BCP, maintainingaccurate records on the CRM system.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform tasks related to CRM, website management, social media, events, finance, and project coordination.
  • Strategy Development: Support the development and delivery of Dorset’s Economic Growth Strategy and other corporate plans.
About you:
  • Qualifications: A SFEDI qualification would be an advantage in this role andexperience working in industry or business support roleswould be beneficial.
  • Experience: Experience in economic development or related fields such as business support, inward investment, account management, or project management.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills. Strong ICT skills. Ability to work effectively with businesses and external stakeholders and within a team environment.
  • Attributes: Proactive, empathetic, and adaptable with a solid grasp of the business support landscape.

This is a part time position at 0.5 FTE, which is 18.5 hours a week. Working pattern is flexible but would ideally include Wednesdays and Thursdays to provide cover to meet business needs.
This is a fixed term position until 31st March 2026.
This post requires significant travel. You must have a vehicle (or transport we deem suitable) available for use as needed.
